CIF Safety Week 2022

Crown Roofing and Cladding Ltd was proud to participate in the Construction Industry Federation’s Safety Week 2022, to celebrate best practice, and to reinforce and promote the importance of safety, health and overall wellbeing at work and in life.

Crown contributed to Safety Week with our Toolbox Talk called #StopTheDrop, at a data centre project in Dublin, where we demonstrated the potential impact and danger of equipment falling from a height. We dropped different pieces of equipment from a 6-metre high MEWP, onto a pumpkin, in the exclusion zone below. The damage caused to the pumpkin was irreparable, and illustrated the danger and life-altering harm that the irresponsible use of equipment can cause.

At Crown, we are focused on the proactive insurance of safety for our staff. We utilize a range of measures to assure our staff can work safe. Over the past two years, we have administered more than 500 random drug and alcohol tests, to our staff on and off site, across projects in Ireland and Europe. We also practice continuous learning, on our education platform EdApp, equipping our staff with ever-improving knowledge of how to practice safe working across a range of topics and skills.

The CIF is the Irish construction industry’s representative body. It provides a broad range of services that assist members in navigating the political, business, economic and regulatory environment.
